Since the passing of SGM Edmund Parker many Kenpo practitioners have fallen into the routine of
"just going through the motions" while learning and performing Kenpo Forms. Many Kenpoist have
lost the true essence of what a Kenpo form is and why it was designed. Such kenpoist have
"cut the corners" while learning and performing the forms. Far too many are not in touch with what is
actually taking place with each specific movement nor do they know the reason behind each movement.
At one tournament I once asked a green belt what a certain move was that he was performing.
His response to me was: " I think it might be to get out of the way of a punch?" We must all go back to
the basics and capture the true essence of why Mr. Parker created and taught Kenpo Forms.
